95 POINTS, James Suckling. "A very pretty, perfumed, young Etna rosso with plenty of fresh flowers, focus and finesse. Medium-bodied, it has fine tannins and a long, bright finish. Best ever? Drink now or hold."
Nerello Mascalese is the grape, which is unique to Sicily. What makes this wine so tasty is how the volcanic soil from Mt Etna plays a role in making deep, dark and concentrated red cherry fruit but at the same time bright, and downright refreshing. Look for some herbs and menthol notes. A very versatile wine with a range of foods and darn good on its own -- you might just fall in love with this wine, like we did.
From Sicily. Bright, medium-full bodied fruit. This is all about freshness and tasty fruit. Soft and silky, with a touch of earthiness that really rounds it out. Fun, tasty wine.
