This is riserva-level and gorgeous Montepulciano.

Premium fruit, barrel aging and extra time in the cellar result in a totally different animal compared to the normal table wine we know of as Montepulciano d'Abruzzo.  The plum fruit makes way for subtle balsamic, a hint of pepper and earth. This is a beautiful, balanced, super-smooth medium bodied wine with well integrated tannins.
