DAOU PESSIMIST PASO ROBLES 2018

7 Current Inventory

Deep deal on this Big, bold, Cali blend!  If you like full-bodied, smooth and silky reds, this is a must try.

An unabashedly bold, rich and full-bodied blend of Syrah, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and trace amounts of Grenache and Mourvedre. Seductive dark fruits envelope the palate with black cherry, anise and vanilla notes that coat the mouth.

92 POINTS, Jeb Dunnuck. "The Pessimist cuvée by the Daou Brothers is always a good value for those who love opulent fruit, and the 2018 offers loads of sweet blue fruits, white chocolate, violets, and toasted spice aromas and flavors. Based on 62% Petite Sirah, 19% Zinfandel, and 17% Syrah, it’s full-bodied, decadent, and rich while staying light on its feet. I’d be happy to drink it."

92 POINTS, Wine Spectator. "A powerful and intensely aromatic nose of blueberry, boysenberry and black plum with layers of elderberry, truffle, cocoa and cardamom. Lush and generous flavors of crème de cassis, lavender, eucalyptus, and damp forest floor. This wine is a powerhouse with a smooth and leisurely finish."
